The 3rd Singapore ‘Golden Lion Awards‘ International Youth Music Arts Competition

Auditions:
There will be two rounds, the preliminary and final.

​

Preliminary:
Candidates can attend the preliminary by either join a live audition or take part in an online video screening.
The Singapore preliminary live audition will take place from 10 am onwards on 13 ,19 and 20 Jan 2019.

For other countries, preliminary live auditions will be held no later than 1 November  2018 in different cities. To enquire about the venue and date, please contact our representatives in your city for more details.
For candidates who can’t join live auditions, you can also choose to take part in an online video screening. You will be required to submit URL address of your video recording when you do the online registration. It is your liability to make clear video recording and upload correctly to online video website for juries to review. No modification or editing should be made to the video and audio.
For candidates who are qualified in a live audition, a certificate will be awarded at the end of the audition. For candidates who join the online video screening, a soft copy of certificate will be sent by email no later than 19 January 2019.

Final:
The final round will take place on 26 ,27 January 2018 , Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre , 1 Straits Boulevard，Singapore 108906 .A Steinway & Sons Model D grand piano will be provided for candidates to perform.
ceremony and concert will be held in the evening.

 

Category
The competition is opened to candidates of all nationalities and background, who aged between 5 to 35 years old.

Age Categories

  • Children Category A:  5 to 6 years;

  • Children Category B: 7 to 10 years;

  • Children Category C: 11 to 12 years;

  • Teenagers Category: 13 to 16 years;

  • Youth Category  : 17 to 19 years;

  • Open Category A: 20 to 24 years;

  • Open Category B:25 to 35 years;

 

Programs 
Piano 

  • Children Category A: free programs up to 3 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Children Category B: free programs up to 3 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Children Category C: free programs up to 4 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Teenagers Category:  free programs up to 5 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Youth Category :        free programs up to 6 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Open  Category A:     free programs up to 10 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Open  Category B:     free programs up to 10 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

Western String Instruments (Violin, Viola, Cello, Contrabass, Guitar) 

  • Children Category A: free programs up to 3 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Children Category B: free programs up to 3 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Children Category C: free programs up to 4 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Teenagers Category:  free programs up to 5 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Youth Category :        free programs up to 6 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Open  Category A:     free programs up to 10 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Open  Category B:     free programs up to 10 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

Western Wind Instruments(Oboe, Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, Saxophone, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Recorder)

  • Children Category A: free programs up to 3 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Children Category B: free programs up to 3 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Children Category C: free programs up to 4 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Teenagers Category:  free programs up to 5 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Youth Category :        free programs up to 6 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Open  Category A:     free programs up to 10 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Open  Category B:     free programs up to 10 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

Vocal (Bel Canto ,Folk Song ,Pop Song)

  • Children Category A: free programs up to 3 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Children Category B: free programs up to 3 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Children Category C: free programs up to 4 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Teenagers Category:  free programs up to 5 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Youth Category :        free programs up to 6 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;

  • Open  Category A:     free programs up to 10 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice; 

  • Open  Category B:     free programs up to 10 minutes, one pieces of competitor’s choice;


Notice:
Candidates can choose the same pieces for the both two rounds.
All the candidates should play by memory.

Prizes
All the prizes will be granted regarding to the marks of candidates’ performance in the final round.

  • Golden Prize: 90 and above;

  • Silver prize: 84 to 89

  • Bronze wards: 80 to 84

  • Excellence prize: 75 to 79

  • Performance Award ：74 below
